3 Reasons Why Squarespace is Perfect for Your Coaching Website

When people ask when the best time is to get their website updated, my answer is “yesterday.” Your website is your home base, where people find out about you and your services, where they fill out your contact form, schedule discovery calls with you, and book your services. Your website needs to be firing on all cylinders to be doing what it’s supposed to be doing which is make you money.

But let’s say you already know all that and you’re looking into which platform to host your site on. If you want a run down of specific questions to ask when trying to find the right platform, check out this post. Right now I’m going to share 3 reasons with you as to why you should jump over on the Squarespace train if you’ve been hesitating or just not sure or weighing pros and cons. Hopefully this can be the nudge you need to go for it!

  1. Squarespace is growing and evolving

I believe innovation is key to making a product better. And while updates can be annoying to figure out and learn sometimes, that is the mark of a great company, one that is constantly looking for ways to improve their platform for their customers. And that is how Squarespace is. Squarespace has always been innovative and looking for ways to improve, expand, and grow.

Squarespace was founded in 2003 as a blogging platform and has since grown to include domains, analytics, a drag and drop feature to replace code, adding ecommerce, email campaigns, member areas,  and the most recent design editor which launched July of 2022.

Squarespace is always looking for ways to improve and it has truly become an all-in-one platform where you can purchase your domain through Squarespace, have your email campaigns inside, as well as ecommerce and member areas.

Why is all this important? Because maybe you’ll start with a smaller site, with the standard pages, but you know you want to grow your coaching business to include a membership and you want to sell products. When you go with Squarespace you can add those items on as you go along with no extra widgets or figuring out how to piece items together. It all comes included with Squarespace.

2. More options for a unique and custom site

With the new Fluid Engine Editor that was released in July of 2022 there are now MANY more ways you can design a really beautiful and unique site. I go into more detail in this post talking about what the difference is between the Classic Editor and the new editor, but for now, you can know that the changes that you can make are definitely similar to Showit.

Along with creating a really customized site, you can also customize your mobile experience which is HUGE as you’re creating a captivating website. According to Mobile Browsing Stats in the United States, as of May 2022, 52.79% of the total web visits are currently mobile, compared to 47.21% coming from desktops. That is over half of the people checking out your website are doing so from a mobile device so it’s imperative that your site can hold up with a great mobile experience. And now with the new editor in Squarespace, that is possible.

With the new editor Fluid Engine you’re able to make isolated changes to mobile which changes everything!

3. Capable to grow as you expand your offers

I mentioned this in No. 1, but we all start somewhere. We don’t all begin with courses, a shop, a membership, or even an opt-in. Sometimes we just begin with the basics: a homepage, about page, a services page and a contact page. And if that’s where you’re starting, a Squarespace Template may be the perfect starting point for you.

When you’re starting with a standard site, without a lot of bells and whistles, you don’t see yourself staying there. Many of my clients see themselves starting a podcast, a shop, or a membership area. And that’s the beautiful thing about Squarespace - it’s easy to add on these items as you grow your business.

Squarespace makes it easy to add on things like a shop with a built-in ecommerce feature - even if you don’t use their 3rd tier pricing option the Ecommerce plan. They offer simple ways to add in a podcast by using the blog page, you can add in a Member Area, by using their Member Area feature.

That’s why I recommend Squarespace to my clients. Because it’s easy to use, it’s beautiful and easy to customize, while also has the capacity to grow with you for years to come.
