Why You Need a Website Refresh

Your website is often your first impression to potential customers. It's also where people can connect with you, understand your services, and be converted from on-lookers to active participants and clients. If your website is outdated, doesn't reflect your current offerings, or is just collecting dust, it's time for a redesign.

A well-designed website is your first impression

Nowadays, your website is attending the networking event you’re invited to. Among all the other sites out there, yours is standing there, smiling (or maybe in a corner) waiting to share about you and your services. If you cringe when you think about sending people to your site, that is a HUGE red flag that you need an update.

As a coach or service provider, one of the most important tasks you can do is create a website that showcases your expertise and the transformation you bring to your clients. Your website is typically your first impression to potential customers. If it's outdated or difficult to navigate, you're likely sending people running for the hills, or they may discredit your expertise and value you can bring.

A well-designed website is your calling card

A well-designed website will not only reflect positively on you and your business, but it will also help people understand what you do, how you can help them, and why they should work with you. Your website should be easy to navigate, informative, and visually appealing so that potential customers can see what value you bring to the table.

Not only should you have a place where people can schedule a call, but give your ideal clients many points of contact with you including somewhere to sign up for your newsletter, to connect with you on social media, to join your Facebook group, to subscribe to your YouTube channel, etc.

A well-designed website makes you more money

Think about it, if you’re someone looking for a nail salon and you hop on a site that is confusing, the services are outdated, pricing isn’t listed, or the phone number or address is missing, chances are you’ll close out the tab and try again. There goes a potential buyer who was ready to hire you (potentially).. Now imagine your site is modern, fresh, shows amazing photos of your nail artistry, clearly shows pricing, hours, availability with a place to book your service. This business would have a WAY better chance at converting the stranger to their services rather than the other site that was jumbled and confusing.

If your website isn't captivating, strategic, memorable, clear, or compelling, it’s time for a redesign and now as the new year is upon us, this is the perfect opportunity to reach out to a web design professional and get some help bringing your vision to life.

A well-designed website is all about you

I won’t go into the phycology of a website in how the copywriting should actually be mostly about your client, BUT unlike social media platforms where people can hop off and watch someone else’s video or see someone else’s profile, your website is a place for people to learn about YOU and your business. Not to mention, it’s yours and yours alone where you can make relationships with your potential customers. Social media is a great tool but is NOT your own and you never know when your account could be deleted/hacked/etc.

Here’s a little inspiration for you about what refreshing your website can do for you:

“Before I hired RuthAnn I felt like my website wasn't up to par with what I provide for my clients. I was ready for a full rebrand because I was ready to uplevel it all! I am BEYOND THRILLED with the end product of how it turned out- but her process was also flawless. This asset that will help take my business and brand to my next benchmark- my million dollar year and beyond!”

“Before I hired RuthAnn I was unsuccessful. But I also was hiding in the background and my old website I designed was not representing my values. Since I launched my new site I definitely have less stress trying to do this on my own, I’ve increased in podcast followers, website engagement especially more scheduled bookings, increased income with coaching calls and programs as more people want to get on the website and learn more!”

So maybe you’re thinking, OK, I need a website redesign, what’s next?

If you’re an established business owner and been in business 2+ years, I highly encourage you to hire a professional.

First and foremost, they will have the knowledge and experience necessary to create a high-quality website that accurately reflects your brand identity. They will also be able to help you select the most effective colors, fonts, imagery, and overall layout for your site.

Additionally, a web designer will be able to take care of all of the technical aspects of setting up your site so that you don't have to worry about it. This includes things like hosting, domain names, security certificates, site speed optimization, and more. They will also be able to help ensure that your site is mobile-friendly so that people can access it no matter what device they're using.

They will also save you TONS of time and mental energy and will bring the strategy and the thought and intention to your website that is needed.

Finally, perhaps most importantly, working with a professional gives you the peace of mind of knowing that someone else is handling everything while you focus on other areas of your business. This way, you can be confident that everything will be taken care of and that you'll end up with a beautiful new site that accurately represents who you are as a coach without having to lift a finger (except maybe when submitting feedback about how amazing the site is 😉).

An important part of long-term success for coaches is a well-designed site because it's usually the first impression potential clients have of you and your business—so make sure it counts! A website redesign is also the perfect opportunity to reach out and start working with a web design professional. If done correctly, this investment will pay off tenfold by helping increase clarity around what you do as well as conversions from on-lookers into active participants and clients. Hear about a Website Refresh from the Client and Designer Perspective

I did a Website Refresh for a friend and mastermind sister and we did exactly what I’ve discussed in this post. Shi Chen is a heart centered business coach and was on the old version of Squarespace - and after years of having her site and DIYing it herself she was ready to move over to the new version and did so with my help. Take a peek at our conversation over on Instagram LIVE where we talk about the process, the return, how this service is different than my custom site design process but still just as effective, and more!
