How Long Does a Brand and Website Redesign Actually Take? (Less Time Than You Think)

How long does a brand and website design actually take? If you've been putting off a rebrand because you think you don't have time, this episode is for you. This is also for you if a rebrand has been on your mind, maybe not an active goal for right now, but this is something you’re considering for the future. This episode will give you great food for thought.

Hello, World!

We’re going to cover why rebrands can have a very long timeline - sometimes up to a year! I’m going to share my rebranding process with my clients, what you ACTUALLY need to working with me and these 3 things will surprise you, what makes my design approach different than other designs, what happens after a rebrand and how to get started. So we’ll cover all the hot button items in today’s episode.

I think when a lot of us want to rebrand or we want a website refresh we envision a cleared calendar, endless chunks of time to work on it, and we go into it with optimism like it’ll take a month or 2 when in reality when we go at it alone - or even sometimes we we hire help, it can take up to a year!

The clients I work with are Successful coaches and service providers and from what I know about them, they are BUSY. They are doing quarterly launches, working with clients 1-1 or in a group container, they are creating content, they typically have a podcast and are marketing and so forth, the list goes on! Not to mention they have a full personal life with kids or travel or passion projects,

so needless to say it’s normal to feel like "I don't have time to add a rebrand to my plate right now" because the truth is, none of us do!

In this episode we’re breaking down The real timeline for a rebrand, what's required of my clients who work with me, and why it's way less of a time commitment than you may think and practical ways to make this happen for yourself sooner rather than later

Let’s dive in.

First let’s start off with what most people think a rebrand requires:

  • Writing all the copy themselves

  • Sourcing images they need

  • Going into their website platform and making updates

  • Endless back-and-forth emails

  • Micromanaging every detail

  • Being "on call" for the designer

  • Spending hours in meetings

This misconception exists because:

  • If you’ve ever DIY your own website, you KNOW the process is long and cumbersome

  • The misconception of having a really complex rebrand also exists when you’ve worked with designers who don’t have a streamlined process.

Now, I’ll admit, even with my streamlined and smooth process, sometimes the process can take longer than expected, due to the client not having everything ready on time for me, due to the client pushing back a timeline, and so forth.

But when it comes to my process, now as I’m recording this in 2026, as I’ve worked with well over 100 entrepreneurs at this point, my process is streamlined and smooth and it requires minimal time on your end, with a smooth process that’s actually enjoyable!

My brand and website services, and I have 2 that I’m referencing in this episode, the Signature, which is a fully custom brand and website and the Essentials which is exactly as it sounds, the essential brand and website that is designed from one of the templates in my shop.

The service I’m speaking about today is the Signature, the fully custom brand and website service, previously called the Master Rebrand. This service is an 8 week process from start to finish and what that means is

  • This is the project timeline, NOT your time commitment

  • Most of this is the me working behind the scenes

Your actual time commitment: 6-8 hours in total for the whole of the process

  • Brand intake form: 1-2 hours (do it at your own pace, coffee in hand)

  • Gathering items for your site: 2 hours

  • 1:1 Meetings: up to 1-2 hours

  • Reviewing design presentations and responding with feedback: 1-2 hours (approving logos, colors, fonts)

What's happening during those 8 weeks while you're living your life and running your company:

  • Brand strategy development, seeing how you can stand out in your industry, learning your goals, your values, who you love serving, and developing a visual identity based on that

  • Logo design and iterations

  • Color palette and typography selection

  • Creating your Brand Style Guide - which is a roadmap for how to use your brand so you and your team can create marketing content with ease

  • 6-page custom website design

  • SEO optimization

  • Quality assurance and testing

  • Launch prep

The point is: You're not involved in the day-to-day execution - you're the visionary, and you leave all the details to me

What I value in the design process (and my clients do too!)

Strategy-First Design
Pretty gets noticed, but we want conversion. That's why my designs are rooted in strategy—layering modern, timeless design with your unique personality so the final result is the complete package: attractive, alluring, and action-oriented.

Timeless Over Trendy
Your brand should last years, not months. I create brands that are modern and refined that position you as a premium service provider today and keep you relevant long after launch.

Collaboration is encouraged but not required
You can be as involved or as hands-off as you would like to be, I’ve had clients before who want every detail to be just so and I’ve also had clients who approve on the first concept, so however you roll is how we like to work with you. You are guided every step of the way knowing where you’re at in the process, no guessing, and timely feedback

Compare this to:

  • DIY: Months of struggling, watching tutorials, second-guessing

  • Or even working with less experienced designers: Constant back-and-forth, unclear next steps, feeling lost in the process

What you actually need to work with me (or any designer)

1. An open mind

  • Trust the process and know you’re in good hands (it’s required that you love the work of any designer you work with, so if you work with me and love my work, then trusting the process will be easy)

  • Be willing to see your brand through a fresh lens.

  • Let go of "this is how it's always been" So many times we get stuck in how things were, but I want to challenge you to be open to seeing your logo in a new way, using new colors, and stepping into that next evolution of your brand and business. This is also embodying a growth mindset for your brand

2. Vision for your business

  • You need to know where your business is headed

  • Who you're trying to attract

  • How you want to feel when you see your brand,

  • and how you want others to perceive your brand

3. Trust in your designer

• Trust the process
• You hired them for a reason, so look to them for guidance

• Keep in mind the reason you hired them: the work they’ve done before, their expertise, how they’ve helped previous clients and remember that when you’re feeling unsure or apprehensive in the process

That's it. All the rest of everything is figured out in the process and not something you need to worry about now.

You don't need all the answers, you don’t need design skills, technical knowledge, or hours of free time. You just need an open mind and a vision for your business

I wanna briefly talk to the woman who says “I’m too busy”

I wanna say, I get it. We all have so much going on, but if you’re not addressing foundational pieces, like your brand and website - that are out there everyday either working for you or not working for you - you very well might be losing out on all your marketing efforts because you don’t have a solid brand supporting everything else.

You don’t want to be in the boat of lots of visibility but low conversion. It’s time for your visibility to translate to revenue and if you’re just feeling like maybe now is the time, it probably is.

So what happens after a rebrand?

The transformation:

  • Renewed excitement and confidence in sharing your website knowing that it’s set up to work for you.

  • Increased engagement and inquiries which leads to more bookings and revenue

  • A brand that works as hard as you do

  • Years of longevity - it’s my goal that your brand and website look fresh and last you years to come

I want to be your long-term design partner

I believe it’s the greatest honor to not only design your new brand and website, but also to be a designer who my clients return to for monthly support long after launch. This is something I love offering to my clients, if you have brand assets you want to build out, or a new offer or program, or container that you need branding for, I’m here for it. I love doing it and I already know your brand intimately so it’s truly a match made in heaven. This is optional so it’s not required, but it’s a service I love extending to my clients where they get so much benefit from it.

So to review, rebranding or doing a website redesign takes 8 weeks in my Signature offer (and just to mention briefly, it’s just 4 weeks for my Essentials offer)

  • Your time commitment: just 6-8 hours in total

  • The process is white-glove, streamlined, and guided all you have to do is sit back, approve and sign off

  • You bring vision and feedback - everything else is handled

I had a past client Haley say:

“I loved the branding process, but the cherry on top for me was seeing it all come together with my website. I also loved the fact that I didn't have to do literally anything - I filled out the info forms RuthAnn needed and then approved her work. It was so seamless which felt amazing for this busy business owner and mama! RuthAnn will do everything she can to not only make sure this process is full of ease, but that you feel 100% in love with the work that she creates for you. Communication throughout the process was amazing and when it came time to hand off the work, RuthAnn made sure I had everything I needed to make using my new brand and site a seamless process. You will not be disappointed”

If you've been putting off a rebrand because you thought you didn't have time, I hope this episode showed you that it's more doable than you think. Your brand is either working for you or working against you every single day - and with your visibility you deserve one that you’re obsessed with that also helps you sell.
