3 Mindset Shifts That Come with Rebranding

Today on Rebrand with RuthAnn, I'm talking about the three biggest mindset shifts that can happen when you're ready to rebrand. I've mentioned this before, but when I started my business back in 2016, I had no idea what mindset work was but since then, I have grown in the personal development space. I think when you become an entrepreneur, you're signing up for personal development and that could not be more true because as an entrepreneur, I believe that your mindset is key to keeping you in the game, to go to the next level and to not give up. And when it comes to rebranding your business, there are certain mindset shifts that take place and I'm going to share those and my own mindset shifts as we go through this episode to give you some examples.

And today I'm talking about the three biggest mindset shifts that can happen when you're ready to rebrand. I've mentioned this before, but when I started my business back in 2016, I had no idea what mindset was. And boy, have I grown in the personal development space. I think when you become an entrepreneur, you're signing up for personal development.

    And that could not be more true because as an entrepreneur, I believe that your mindset is key to keeping you in the game, to go to the next level and to not give up. And when it comes to rebranding your business, there are certain mindset shifts that take place and I'm gonna share those and my own mindset shifts as we go through this to give you some examples.

    Mindset shift number one going from knowing you will succeed to believing you will succeed Knowledge and belief are similar except that knowledge is understanding logically with previous experiences and Belief is a deep in your gut knowing before you have any proof And I think this is key when you're taking a big next step in your life or your business this confidence of Knowing that what you're doing will bring you the success you desire

    is going for it with 100% conviction and certainty. And normally you will be successful when you have that belief and energy behind you. It's the difference between thinking, yeah, I think I can sign two more clients this month, which gives off an energy of maybe like passive, ho hum, maybe it'll happen, maybe it won't. Whereas if you believe you will get two clients, like it's 100% guaranteed,

    then you will be so much more confident, excited to show up, excited to put yourself, invite someone to your discovery calls. At its core, I think this mindset shift is an energetic one, where it's the type of energy that and belief of what you want is going to happen. And through a rebrand, you know, so much of this is possible because you're thinking that you will go to the next level. And that is so true.

    you're stepping into that next level version of yourself and believing that you will absolutely get your goal. So an example when this happened to me was when I quit my day job. I was almost three years into my side hustle and by that point I had reduced my hours. So let's see, I was in my third year of my side hustle. I was

    almost third year and I was, I had reduced my hours to 32 hours a week and had Fridays off so I could work on my side hustle and still work my day job and still get everything, the benefits and the paycheck and stuff, but having Fridays off and so I could work and I was at the point where I was miserable in the in-between. I loved my coworkers so much and my routine at my day job.

    I think the thing I couldn't stand was the in between. It just felt like I had one foot in and one foot out. And I was like, I'm so done with this and I'm ready to just pick one or the other. I don't like this back and forth. And it just felt like I, it was coming to the point where I was like, I just wanna make a decision. And for me, it came down to myself.

    I think for me, I wanted some financial stability before I could make the leap. And at that time, I was making about $2,000 a month, and that was enough. And I remember having three months of $2,000 a month, and I was like, okay, I definitely think this can happen. But I think it was more of, it was definitely a mindset shift for me. It wasn't so much the money in the bank, it was knowing that this could happen for me, and that I could make this happen.

    and I remember having a conversation with my husband. I think it was in November, end of November maybe, and we sat down on the couch and I just explained why this was the right time for me to go full time, that I believed I can do it, that I would succeed and be successful. And I hadn't really had confidence in myself up until that point. I just remember that conversation was so pivotal for me to get that confidence and just really believing it and owning it for myself.

    My husband is more on the cautious side with these things, with like taking the leap in entrepreneurship and all those things. But my confidence gave him confidence. And within three weeks, I had put in my notice, I booked three clients. And I really believe that it was because I had that truly, you know, that true belief and that mindset shift of like, this is happening and I will be successful. And I just, I just believe it. It was that in that decision.

    It was that decision that the mindset shift of like, I can do this, maybe I can do this too. I am doing this that allowed me to step out and believe in myself and the Lord that he would take care of me and that I could go full time in my business. So the second mindset shift that you will need as you are thinking about going through a rebranding process is going from this money I invest will be lost forever. To this money I invest will take me so much farther and get me a 10x return. I believe there is expansiveness and abundance on the other side of a big investment in your business like rebranding. I believe rebranding is an essential part. I'm sorry.

    Let me do that again. Believing there is expansiveness and abundance on the other side of a big investment is key to making that investment work for you, I think. And that definitely comes with rebranding too. I've been on calls with women who want to rebrand, they're ready to rebrand, they know it'll help them, but they just don't wanna invest the money because it feels like, oh, if I make this, I maybe won't see it again. And sometimes they can put it off for months and even years and never make that.

    progress that they really want. Because when it comes to rebranding, I do believe it is an external shift because you're getting a new logo, you're getting a new brand identity, you're getting clear messaging, you're getting a website, you are getting all those things. But what you're really getting as well is that deep change in yourself where you are upleveling and going to the next level version of yourself. It's like, you know, I'm not going to be playing small anymore. I'm going to that next level.

    And that's what comes with rebranding. And sometimes that investment can be like an external, you know, an external objection rather than, you know, looking back, looking deep inside to that really internal, you know, thing that maybe it's like you're afraid of success or that kind of thing. And so that is one of the biggest objections I hear with people when they're wanting to rebrand is the investment.

    And I'm not gonna lie and say that it is, you know, cheap, but, and it is an investment, but it is totally relative to the expansiveness that can come on the other side. So just think of like, you know, you may invest a few thousand dollars now in your branding or your website, but just think about how many more customers you'll reach, how much more confident you'll be in pitching yourself to podcasts, to collaborations and opportunities, and how… you know, ideal clients will come to your site and how you can work with more people. There's so much more expansiveness that can come on the other side. And I think it's just believing that the investment, the money you put in now is not gonna go away. You will see it again over and over, but you have to believe that that's possible and have that energy behind it. For me, I felt this way about this podcast. I remember reaching out to my podcast editor, shout out to Haley.

    Back in, you know, I don't even know when I reached out to her years ago. I don't think it was 2020 It might have been 2021 I honestly don't even remember two or three years ago Maybe even longer about starting a podcast because I remember, you know thinking about it It was something that I was interested in I didn't really you know have a solid direction or anything at the time, but I was like, oh, maybe I can figure this out and

    I will admit there were a lot of other reasons I didn't go forward with it then, but finances were definitely one of them. And fast forward to May of 2023, I was coming back from a three month maternity leave and I just really recognized that I wanted to start a podcast. It was just kind of like, and all of the sudden, this is what I need to do. Like I am ready to be seen as an expert. I'm ready to have. This platform, this new reach, to connect with my audience in a new way. It just felt so right. And, you know, I do think that you kind of, it's helpful to go off of like how you're feeling sometimes. You know, I'm logical too. So it's not just going off of like what you feel, but for me, it just felt like the exact next step that I needed. And I knew I didn't want to DIY because I had a baby and a toddler.

    And I was like, you know, there's no way I'm going to spend time in figuring this out. And I was like, you know, hiring Haley is the obvious next step for me because I totally believe that this podcast is going to help take me to the next level. And this investment would totally come back to me tenfold. You know, maybe not this year, maybe not next, but it absolutely will pay off. And I think that's the mindset shift that comes with investing is like you 100% believe that you will show up as that next level self and that you will reach your goals because you have that confidence. Number three, the third mindset shift is you go from I can do this myself to I want to bring in an expert to help me achieve my goals. I think growing your team is an inevitable part of making more money. And I remember never wanting to grow a team. My total dream was to just do this by myself and

    work with clients one on one and not have any team members or anything because I was like I just want to do this by myself. And I just think you, and that works for some people for sure, but for me I did get to the point where I was like I want to have a little bit more time. I want to outsource some of these smaller tasks. I want to have a little bit of help. And so if you are wanting to make more money I think growing your team is a great way to do that.

    And you can do that, you know, by yourself or you can have other people who are really good at what they do Help you make that progress and I have seen this time and time again when I want to make real progress I have help to get me where I want to go and in the beginning was like hiring my coach and Boy, did that help me so much and firing not firing a hiring my first VA to outsourcing parts of my client projects

    And now I just accept the fact that I can't do it on my own, nor do I want to. And I'm definitely able and willing to hire support to help me get to where I want to go. And that definitely, I see that with my clients too. They are very good at what they do. They are an expert in their, you know, their industry and they know what they're doing for sure. But when it comes to rebranding, they really don't know how to create a really gorgeous logo that aligns with their vision. They don't know how to create like a really

    client based, they don't know how to create a user friendly experience on their website to get more clients to book. And so, you know, they can either do it themselves and figure it out and it just takes a lot of time or they can hire me or another designer to help them get the or they can hire me or another designer to help get them to what they want, which is looking really professional and put together online so they can be seen as the expert and reach more ideal clients. And I can go back to the earlier example of watching my podcast. I could have DIYed my way through, but I did not have the patience, energy, or frankly time to do it with a new baby and toddler. So I chose to lean on support and have them help me achieve my goals. And boy has it been incredibly helpful.

    So let me recap those mindset shifts. Number one, it was going from knowing you will succeed to believing you will succeed. Number two, going from this money I invest will be lost forever to this money I invest will take me so much farther and get me a 10x return. Number three, go from I can do this myself to I want to bring in an expert to help me achieve my goals.

    Those are the three key mindset shifts that will help you go to the next level with rebranding.
